Jaime Smith earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she studied under Malcolm Lowe, Concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Eric Rosenblith, Chair of the String Department at NEC.
In 1999, Jaime became the first musician to receive a Fulbright Scholarship to Greece to study traditional Greek music in Athens. She attended the Ethniko Odeio (National Conservatory) under Yiannis Zevgolis and later continued her studies with Kyriakos Gouventas at the Odeio Athinon (Athens Conservatory).
For the past 27 years, Jaime has lived and performed throughout Greece and Cyprus with celebrated artists. In 2007 she founded the trio Hohlax and has organized concert tours throughout California.
Jaime has taught violin for over 30 years in California and Athens, working with children, teens, and adults of all experience levels.
She now teaches online violin lessons to students throughout the United States and Europe, creating engaging and personalized lessons that help students build strong technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
Known for her patience, warmth, and sense of humor, Jaime believes in meeting each student where they are and helping them grow with confidence and joy.
