What Students Are Saying
I started taking lessons with Jaime last year, and I honestly wasn’t sure how well learning the violin over Zoom would work.
She has been instrumental in my development - from barely knowing how to hold the violin to playing increasingly advanced music. The convenience and flexibility of scheduling make lessons easy to fit into my scattered life, and I’ve been amazed by just how much I’ve been able to learn online.
Jaime is patient, encouraging, and has a wonderful sense of humor that keeps each lesson both productive and enjoyable. Her love of the violin is obvious, and it’s an honor to be her student at a rate that I can actually afford. Jaime offers more than violin lessons - she creates an experience that I genuinely look forward to every week.

I’ve really enjoyed learning violin with Ms. Jaime. She is patient, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about teaching music. She explains concepts clearly and guides me through each piece step by step, helping me improve and become more confident in my playing.
I really appreciate how understanding and supportive she is as a teacher. Her guidance has helped me grow as a musician and deepen my appreciation for music.
I would highly recommend Ms. Jaime to anyone looking for a dedicated and inspiring violin teacher.
-Sohan Kothuri, 14, California
When my son started taking violin lessons remotely, I honestly wondered how well an online class would work. It can be difficult for a teacher to notice the small details through a screen, but Jaime has been able to do exactly that.
What stands out most to me is her patience and her focus on fundamentals. She doesn’t believe in rushing just to get through the material. Instead, she takes the time to make sure my son understands the basics and develops the right technique, even if it takes a little longer. I really appreciate that approach because I know that a strong foundation will help him as he progresses.
Jaime is also incredibly friendly, encouraging, and understanding. Before the lesson begins, she takes a short moment to talk with my son and get him comfortable and ready to learn. It may seem like a small thing, but it has made a real difference in how he approaches the lessons.
The best part for us as parents is seeing how much he enjoys learning. He looks forward to his violin classes and is always excited for the next one. Seeing that enthusiasm has been very rewarding for us.
We are very grateful to have found such a dedicated teacher. Her teaching is not just about learning to play the violin, it is about building the right fundamentals, confidence, and love for music.

My experience as a student under Jaime’s guidance for over four years has been consistently exceptional, proving to be both profoundly uplifting and remarkably informative. Each lesson and every musical discussion has been a source of genuine enjoyment and intellectual stimulation, fostering a deep appreciation for the art form.
Jaime’s calm demeanor and unwavering professionalism have profoundly impacted my development, not only as a violinist but also in my personal growth. She creates an environment conducive to learning and exploration.
Furthermore, Jaime’s continuous dedication to discovering and implementing innovative teaching processes is truly commendable. These methods consistently make lessons engaging, interesting, and fun, all while meticulously upholding the integrity and foundational principles of the music. It is this balance that make her instruction so unique and effective.
I wholeheartedly recommend Jaime to anyone seeking a dedicated, inspiring, and highly skilled instructor.

I’ve been taking violin lessons with Jaime for almost seven years. She’s always challenged me where appropriate and showed me patience when I struggled. She explains things in ways I can understand, and is able to identify errors and make corrections to fingering, pitch, or posture, even via teleconference. Through that I’ve learned to recognize and make some of those corrections myself. I feel like I understand my violin beyond individual exercises or pieces of music (taking what I’ve learned in the past and anticipating how it integrates with new techniques) so that I can continue to make progress.
Jaime is considerate of my chronic health issues and how they impact my ability, and she has empowered me to overcome the obstacles they place to my education. I really can’t recommend her enough, if you're sincere about learning to play, whatever your background or experience.

I started playing violin later in life (late 40’s). At first, I was hesitant to do lessons with an online teacher. Once I met Jaime, I felt completely at ease and knew she was the right fit for me. She challenges me in just the right ways and supports me exactly in the moments I need it. It is evident that Jaime not only loves the violin, but loves teaching. She makes violin accessible and fun. In addition, she ensures proper form and technique early on. I’m learning the foundational skills and will venture into new and exciting areas of fiddling and pop/rock music in the future. Jaime is a great teacher and I highly recommend anyone interested in starting violin to seek her out.

I’ve been taking lessons from Jaime for about 9 months and couldn’t be happier with her approach and my progress. Before starting with Jaime, I had some understanding of music from childhood lessons on piano and guitar, but that was 40 years ago so I was essentially a novice. I’m a working professional with a lot of obligations and limited time for practice. Jaime has patiently worked with me on keeping on track through the foundational lessons while always keeping our time together positive, fun, and focused. She’s able to watch my physical mechanics and hear my sound (sometimes noise) quality to catch and guide me along the way. I can’t imagine a more pleasant, fun or effective violin teacher than Jaime.

I’ve been taking violin lessons with Jaime for over three years now, and I honestly couldn't ask for a better teacher. She’s incredibly patient and has a great way of making lessons both productive and fun. I always look forward to our lessons, and somehow we manage to spend the time learning while still having plenty of laughs along the way.
One of the things I appreciate most about Jaime is that she understands what it’s like to be an adult trying to learn an instrument while also having a million other things going on. I don’t always have as much time to practice as I’d like, but she never makes me feel guilty about it or like I’m falling behind. Instead, she works with me where I’m at and helps me make the most of the time I do have.
Three years in, I’m still enjoying learning the violin, which I think says a lot about the teacher. Jaime has helped me make progress without making playing feel like a chore, and I would absolutely recommend her to other adults who want to learn an instrument but aren’t sure they can fit regular practice into their lives.
All in all, I would highly recommend Jaime to anyone who wants to learn the violin!

The language of the violin is very complex and intricate, and a teacher like Jaime is essential for navigating one’s way through the instrument. So far, Jaime has taught me for two years in total. At first, I was totally lost. I kept missing notes and I was completely unable to read any violin sheet music at all. After Jaime taught me for a few short weeks, reading the music became second nature.
Jaime allowed me to bring out the best of my abilities while being patient. I played songs incorrectly time and time again, and I never felt disparaged when she was correcting me.
Classes with Jaime never feel like a compulsory check on my agenda. I find them extremely enjoyable. She has greatly increased my passion in playing the violin.

First of all, I think I was really lucky to find Jaime as my violin teacher when I wanted to return to the violin after decades away from it. I learned the violin as a child, but stopped playing for many years. When I decided to start again as an adult, one of my biggest goals was to become good enough to play music with other people someday.
Jaime really understood what I wanted to achieve and always worked with me at my own pace. She helped me rebuild my foundation and, importantly, caught the bad habits I had developed while practicing on my own and helped me correct them. I had actually thought this kind of guidance wouldn’t really be possible through online lessons, but I was wrong. She was very observant and always explained clearly what I was doing wrong, why, and how I could improve it. She was also very patient and encouraging throughout the process.
After two years of learning with her, I joined a local amateur orchestra where I live. Now I get to rehearse and perform with other musicians and enjoy being part of an orchestra, which was exactly what I hoped I could do when I started learning with her. I’m very grateful to Jaime for helping me get there.
Jaime is also a wonderful violinist herself and someone who truly loves music. I remember watching a video of her performing Greek traditional music years ago. Greek music was completely new to me, but I was really moved by it, and I remember telling her that she was “shining when she was playing.” You can really see how much she loves music when she performs. and I think that passion naturally comes through in her teaching too.
On a personal level, Jaime is warm, kind, and genuinely caring. She was always happy about my progress and very supportive whenever I struggled with something. I always felt comfortable asking questions and never felt judged or pressured. At the same time, she is very professional and truly cares about helping her students improve.
I feel very lucky that I had the chance to learn from Jaime. She helped me reach the goal I had when I started, but more importantly, she helped violin and making music become a real part of my life. I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful violin teacher, a passionate musician, and a genuinely caring person to learn from.
